Open Letters

Sometimes raising an issue at a public meeting or in the chamber doesn't get a substantive response. When that happens, your councillors sometimes put their concerns in writing, and publish the letter so you can see both the question and the answer. We'll share whatever comes back, in full.

Parking in SK3: a daily battle that's gone nowhere

Sent jointly with Davenport & Cale Green's Labour councillors to the Chief Executive and the Cabinet Member responsible for parking, this letter raises Stockport's continued reliance on print-it-yourself paper parking permits and the Cabinet's refusal to meet ward members on parking pressures across SK3. It asks for a meeting with your ward councillors, a costed plan to replace the paper system with a digital one like Manchester and Trafford already have, and a report in front of the Communities and Transport Scrutiny Committee this year, all within 21 days.
