Alley Squad
The ECA is starting an Alley Squad, and we want to help you sort out your alleyway once and for all. If yours is overdue a clear-out and you can get a group of neighbours together, we'll provide everything else needed to get it done.
We're running these through the summer, a few alleys at a time, so the keenest streets go first.
Here's the plan
You bring
Your neighbours and the muscle
Round up your neighbours. We reckon you'll want at least ten people willing to roll their sleeves up for one good Saturday. Bring the muscle, and the brews.
We bring
The organisation, tools and collection
We bring the organisation, the tools and the kit, and we arrange for the council to take the waste away. One good Saturday and a collection later, your alley looks like somewhere you'd want to walk the dog rather than somewhere you'd report.
This builds on point six of our Six-Point Plan, cleaner alleyways and greener communal spaces, and the progress residents have already made turning neglected spaces into ones the whole community can enjoy.
